Just south of the Breaker’s golf course at 141 South County Road one will find The Episcopal Church of Bethesda-by-the-Sea. This Gothic style church was built in 1925 as a replacement for the 1894 version that still stands as a private residence on the north Lake Trail. With its prominent bell tower and decorative arches it stands out in contrast to the island’s popular Mediterranean Revival and Spanish Colonial Revival architectural style popularized by architect Addison Mizner.
